Bridging the Gap: Join Our Two-Part "Youth & Parent Voices" Series

Let’s be honest: talking about mental health, boundaries, and stress at home can be incredibly tough. Often, teens feel misunderstood or judged, while parents and caregivers feel shut out or overwhelmed. The love is there, but the communication often breaks down.

At Church Boi Empowerment Company, we believe it doesn't have to be this way. That’s why we are thrilled to announce our upcoming project: a two-part "Youth & Parent Voices" panel series.

What is the "Youth & Parent Voices" Series?

We are organizing structured, solution-focused panel discussions designed to create a safe environment for honest dialogue between youth and adults. This isn't about pointing fingers; it's about building bridges.

Because both sides deserve a chance to be heard, we are hosting two separate events at different scheduled times:

  • Event 1: Youth Ask the Adults. A dedicated time for youth to ask a panel of parents/caregivers questions to better understand boundaries, adult reactions, and what parents wish kids knew.

  • Event 2: Adults Ask the Youth. A dedicated time for parents/caregivers to ask a panel of youth questions to better understand what kids are experiencing today and what support actually feels helpful.

To ensure the conversations remain safe, respectful, and productive, we will be using pre-selected, anonymous questions submitted by you.

The Hard Questions We Need to Ask

We want to tackle the real issues families are facing today. These panels will help reduce the stigma around asking for help and offer practical strategies for better communication.

During the "Youth Ask Adults" panel, we'll explore questions like:

  • “What should I do when I’m overwhelmed and I don’t have the words to explain it?”

  • “How can I ask for help without feeling like I’m going to get in trouble or judged?”

  • “What are signs you would want me to tell you I’m not okay—before it gets worse?”

During the "Adults Ask Youth" panel, we'll explore questions like:

  • “When you’re struggling, what type of support feels helpful—and what feels harmful?”

  • “What do you wish adults understood about anxiety, depression, or feeling ‘numb’?”

  • “How can we set boundaries (phones, friends, school expectations) without you feeling controlled?”

Why This Matters: Our Mission at Church Boi Empowerment Company

At Church Boi Empowerment Company, our core mission is to uplift and empower youth while providing families with the tools they need to thrive. We know that true empowerment starts at home—but it requires a foundation of trust, safety, and open communication.

We are launching this initiative because we want to actively reduce the stigma around mental health and help-seeking in our community. By giving both youth and caregivers a structured, judgment-free space to speak and be heard, we can move past misunderstandings and start building real, actionable support systems for our families.

We Need Your Voice to Shape Both Panels

To make these events as powerful and relevant as possible, we need to hear from you first. We have created two anonymous surveys—one for the youth and one for parents/caregivers. Your answers will directly determine the topics we prioritize during the live events.

For the Teens & Youth: What do you wish adults understood about your mental health and stress? What makes you shut down? 👉 Click Here to Take the Teen Survey

For the Parents & Caregivers: What is the hardest part about supporting a teen right now? What communication barriers do you face at home? 👉 Click Here to Take the Parent & Caregiver Survey

At Church Boi Empowerment Company, we believe this type of guided conversation can be powerful in helping families feel seen, heard, and supported. Thank you for sharing your voice and partnering with us to strengthen our community.
