Skill Gap Pyramid Overview

Skill Gap Pyramid Overview

At Church Boi Empowerment Company, we use a pyramid-based model to understand how trauma, poverty, parentification, neglect, or inconsistent support can leave youth and families without essential life and emotional skills. Too often, these missing skills are mislabeled as “behavior problems,” “defiance,” or “poor motivation,” when they are actually signs of unmet developmental needs. Our model helps us identify what was missing, understand how those gaps affect functioning today, and build targeted programs that teach the skills in the right order. This approach keeps our work intentional, sequential, and solution-based informed.
